Items needed for renovation:
- FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM TO MEET FIRE CODE IN THE KITCHEN
To offer a full-service menu and meet current fire code the kitchen must have an approved fire suppression system installed ($25,000.00). If this system is installed it will allow residents to utilize renovated space for any function and have a variety of menu selections. - REBUILD EXTERIOR HANDICAP RAMP
The hope is to see this building used for any function in town. The building needs to accommodate anyone and everyone in a dignified manner. - WINDOW REPAIR AND REPLACEMENT
This will not only add to the exterior façade improvements, it will also increase energy savings and safety. - REPAIR AND MODERNIZE THE STAGE IN THE BALLROOM
The community deserves a venue that promotes the arts locally. We are hopeful the Ashland Community Theater will have a space they can count on, and for anyone else that would like to start or expand their cultural organization. - REPLACE FOYER CARPET CEILING TILE IN FOYER
First impressions make a huge difference and we want residents to feel welcome when they first step foot inside the newly renovated space. The foyer is the first thing you see when you enter and it desperately needs an upgrade. - REMODEL BATHROOMS
In order to update the function room the bathrooms need a lift as well, new tile, new floors, and new doors will be installed. - REMODEL TROPHY ROOM AND CREATE A MUSEUM TO HONOR OUR HISTORY
This room will become versatile so that it can be used for small meetings, a green room or lounge. It will showcase Ashland’s role in the Boston Marathon 1897-1923. - REPAIR FRONT PORCH ENTRY AND PAINT EXTERIOR
In order to make the VFW one that is inviting the exterior needs upgrading. It is important to show the pride we have for our Veterans and the community we live in.
